Now Rolling - Roadshows at a High School Near You!
Exciting roadshows are
heading to schools across Kirklees.
The Drug Sense/The Wright
Stuff roadshow will include the brand new film from The
Wright Stuff, called Supply and Demand.
The
entertaining film based on a spoof Newsnight
features The Wright Stuffs comedy Spitting Image-style
puppets.
Year
10 pupils at all 25 high schools in the area will be
able to enjoy a screening of the film, then join in with
workshops relating to issues it brings up.
Teachers will also be discussing issues related to the
roadshow in lessons, using a teaching pack supplied as
part of the roadshow.
Said Val Flintoff, Kirklees Drugs Education Advisor:
The roadshow forms an important part of a wider package
of support for drugs education for students in Kirklees
schools.
Students always enjoy the lively and entertaining
format of the roadshow. It is a great way of raising
important issues about drugs, drug users and drug
misuse.
All
schools will be offered the roadshow, a comprehensive
teaching pack and training so staff feel confident to
discuss drugs with their students.
