Making Things Equal

The Making Things Equal project has been developed to work specifically with Black, South Asian and other minority ethnic communities to address the barriers faced by individuals wanting to access drug services. MTE has a culturally diverse staff team and offers a fully confidential and culturally sensitive service.

MTE provides a range of services including outreach, referral and linkage to other services, community based training seminars, family support groups and delivers specific drug awareness work with parents and carers, religious establishments and young people.

Underlying the service is an ethos of community engagement with a capacity building programme to support individuals from the community to empower their own knowledge and skills around drug and alcohol use. MTE also recruits community interactors from local communities to work within their own communities offering the range of services available.
