Drug Sense
Our overall aim is to help reduce the harm to young
people, their families and communities from illegal
drug, alcohol and solvent use. We encourage young people
to take control of their lives and make informed choices
for themselves, by offering a range of interventions:
Confidential, specialist help to young people who are
experiencing problems because of their substance use.
Support for parents or carers and referral to the Family
Drugs Service.
Targeted prevention to vulnerable groups of young people
homeless, at risk of exclusion from school, attending
pupil referral units, involved in the criminal justice
system, looked after children
Outreach service, engaging with young people Kirklees
wide.
Support for professionals working with young people to
deliver up-to-date drug awareness sessions for young
people.
Youth Offending Team workers.
Peer Education Project, provides young people between
the ages of 16 19 training, mentoring and support to
deliver drugs education to other young people,
communities and professionals.
Connexions PA for Drug Sense.
Looked after Children Substance Misuse Worker.
